We decided to get one more weekend trip in before our daughter and son-in-law were set to have their baby. We knew that as soon as Molly arrived we’d be busy with family and the holidays and camping would be on the back burner for some time.
Champoeg State Park seemed like a good choice. Just 15 minutes away from our home – we’d be able to pack up in a hurry if we got a call in the middle of the night saying it was time. It was also 15 minutes closer to Corvallis where Scott had been for over a month and we thought it a good excuse to drop in and have lunch with him.
The weekend was beautiful…a perfect autumn day in the northwest. We enjoyed a long walk along the river, a little shopping at the Woodburn Outlet Malls nearby and a nice visit with our son at OSU.

Hi folks,
Im a random follower of your blog — came across it as I begin to get more serious about a fantasy of buying an Airstream Sport for the primary purpose of going on photography trips. So, of course, I appreciate your wonderful photographs.
Can you give me any advice about purchasing a new or used 16 foot sport?
I am still determining if my Ford Ranger, 4L, 6 cylinder is strong enough to safely pull one. I’ll need items like a differential cooler and electric brake addition, I guess, as well as the tow bar..
Any advice would be deeply appreciated.

Hi Dan, the sport is lighter than our International, so I would imagine your Ranger would be fine. We pull ours with a V6 Nissan Frontier and our tongue weight is quite a bit heavier. We do have a transmission cooler but since it’s 2wd we don’t have a differential. We haven’t had any problems at all.
If you have any specific questions, I’ll pass them onto my husband who knows much more about our setups than I do!
