The weather forecast looked promising early in the week and so we made reservations again…and again we watched the chance of rain progress as the week went on. The forecast went from 10% chance of rain on Saturday to 100%….and in a way that only an Oregonian can appreciate….RAIN and blow it did!
We did manage to get clearing both nights long enough to have a campfire, so all was not lost. And truth-be-told, the rain gave me the time I needed to work on my classroom report cards. Using our phones as a wi-fi hotspot has really come in handy on our last two rainy adventures!
Our first night was nice. The park was quiet, the skies were somewhat clear and the moon was full. Saturday was wet, windy and to top it off, when we got back from town, we were SURROUNDED by Boy Scouts. Don’t get me wrong…I like kids…I’m a fourth grade teacher 🙂 But, being surrounded on all sides by kids with recorders, skateboards and footballs, gets a little noisy. I’m pretty sure that our water spigot became base for an active game of hide and seek. State Park camping is almost finished for us. In about a month, the federal campgrounds open, and I can hardly wait! Electricity (and crowds) are highly overrated!
Rain or shine…very grateful we’re able to do this!!
Kim, you make it look like fun no matter the weather. Thats a good picture of Todd holding the horse. And, of course Cooper is always funny! You and Todd look great!

It was fun…but a little bit of sunshine would have made it even more fun 😉

I so enjoy reading your posts and have to admit am jealous of the Bambi. LOL Boyfriend bought an Rpod. Although cute, I have always been a fan of the airstreams so when I saw yours, I had to whine a bit. HA HA
But your blog posts at least make me enjoy the similar adventures and makes me want to write more this coming year. Thank you again.

Laura, I think those little Rpods are cute, too. We’ve seen a lot of them when we’re out and about. Those and the TABS always make me smile!

Hi, Kim! I’ve been reading your blog since August 2012 – my boyfriend and I had just moved to Oregon and I was Googling ‘best campgrounds in Oregon’ and found ‘The Small Small Trailer’ through your photography. (Beautiful!) I’ve been subscribed to your blog so was very happy when new posts started popping up again in February. Congratulations on the arrival of your adorable granddaughter and I’m so glad that you and Todd are back to traveling around Oregon in the Bambi! Since our move I have learned so much about this gorgeous state through your fun and unique blog. Your posts have been so inspiring to me; reminders to get out and enjoy each day (or weekend) as much as we can with the ones we love. So, hi! And thanks for sharing your adventures with us!
