A long, long time ago, (so long ago in fact that WordPress changed the format and I had to relearn how to make a post, ) I was good about keeping our travel log up to date. My husband has shamed me into catching up, so here is my attempt to dust the cobwebs from my memories and share a few of the pretty places we visited last year.
In my defense, it’s hard to spend my time in front of the computer when I have a sweet grand baby to spend my free time playing with.
So, I will begin my blog update with a hike up to one of the most spectacular falls in Oregon – Ramona Falls on Mt. Hood. We have done this hike before on a beautiful sunny afternoon, perfect for hiking but not so perfect for shooting waterfall, photos. This weekend looked to be sufficiently cloud covered, so off we went in search of great water photos. I was excited to use my new Nikon D7100 and test it out, and from what I could tell, I wasn’t disappointed. We had lots of opportunities for good pictures except for the fact that my battery was almost dead and I had left the spare in the car. I took photos along the way very sparingly and had just enough juice to snap two photos once we reached our destination. This is a fairly easy hike and if you’re ever in the area, it’s a place you really should see!
Thank you, Kim, for dusting off the cobwebs and sharing your magical adventures in beautiful places, such as the Pacific Northwest, highlighted with your stunning waterfalls photos. Congratulations on your new Nikon D7100!
Thanks, Todd, for encouraging Kim to continue sharing with the world beautiful photos, as well as your adventures and life story.
You’re right, Kim, in limiting your computer time in favor of being with loved ones, such as your grandchild, Molly.
A fellow blogger recently explained to me his absence by saying, “These electronic devices are a powerful burglar of time, the singular commodity we can neither buy nor replace, so I’m devoting more time to reading, improving my bridge game, and relishing the time left on the planet with [loved ones].”
Thanks, Kim, for posting… and we’ll understand if it is not quite so often!

I have truly missed your posts and mostly the pictures. The colors and clarity are awesome! Karen and I will be heading out soon – Midwest weather permitting – in our Bambi to points in Michigan. I hope that I can conjure up some photos with a newly acquired Fuji S9400W that will get me as excited as yours do!
We would love to venture back to Oregon, and other places out west again sometime, and explore some more.
Thank you, Kim & Todd,
Jon

It’s so good to savor your post and photos again. Keep sharing with us when you can. Such an inspiration. We are rather new to camping with our Casita and appreciate your knowledge of the Northwest. Thanks again.

You have a great gift Kim. I am happy to see you using it; but, watching Molly grow is also addictive and you can never get that time back. So now, you just have another subject for your photography.

It’s good to know that even if you are not posting, you are still adventuring. I’ve been out and about in my little teardrop. When you’re enjoying where tiny trailers can take you, there’s no time to write about it!

Thank you for your posts and photos. You certainly do beautiful work. Every time I see camping photos with your airstream in the background I feel like going to the airstream dealer.

I love your blog – and the trailer. BF bought the rPod version (much to my dismay) but I follow your blog for new ‘locations’ for us as well.
And agree, sitting in the front of the computer instead of spending time with grand baby is ‘bad’ – but we followers are happy with whatever you too can share!
We just did our anniversary in Cannon Beach (in the pod) but will be working on some of your locations as well.
lauramcdaniel.com (WordPress as well).
Thank you for sharing! We are fans.

Laura, we spend a lot of time in Cannon Beach and we love to camp in Manzanita. Sure think the rPods are cute, too! Where did you guys stay in Cannon Beach…we haven’t seen many campgrounds near Cannon Beach so we usually rent a place when we’re there.
