Hitched up and pulled out Friday night for a nice weekend! We’ve been keeping the trailer packed so it’s ready to go when we are. We can get home on Friday afternoon and be on the road in no time. Found a great site at Nehalem Bay, and enjoyed an unexpectedly nice weekend. After the wettest winter on record in Portland, the sunshine was an incredibly nice treat! Just over 24 hours- a lot of fun packed into a very short amount of time…I’ll let the pictures tell the story:
We spent a fun afternoon hiking around Oswald West State Park located right off the highway between Cannon Beach and Manzanita! We’ve driven by many times and never stopped -glad we did this time. Who knew! Great hiking trails through old growth forest, suspension bridges along swift moving creeks and a sweet little beach at the end, that is obviously a favorite surfing destination.
Our beautiful weather during the day continued into the evening with moody, colorful skies! I can never tell what I enjoy more…watching the sun go down on the horizon or the color it paints the sky over the mountain range to the east.
We have this site reserved again….looking forward to our return!
