We had planned a return trip to Canada this summer to visit Banff and Jasper National Parks again. We visited the parks two years ago, but were besieged by rain the entire trip.

Unbeknownst to me, my passport had expired a month earlier. With some quick scrambling, we rearranged our trip to spend more time in Glacier Park instead. It’s a beautiful park and not nearly as busy as others this time of year. We were able to secure a nice campsite for a few days and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Our first night was spent in Wallace, Idaho. It’s a cute little town and is fun to explore.

A Garden Patio at West Glacier KOA. These are nice, large sites that offer patio furniture, a gas barbecue and a small fire pit.

Another view of the campsite. Although we had hoped to find a spot in the park, I will admit to enjoying electricity and water! We don’t camp like this very often, but I can see the appeal if you’re on the road a lot.

Going to the Sun Road…It takes me a little while to breathe on this drive. By the second or third time on the drive, I’m finally ready to look out the window!

These old cars add a lot of character to the park!

Hike up to Victoria Falls…we were sad to see that just after our last visit, the entire area burned. It made it a completely different hike this time.

The aqua marine water color at the falls, makes this hike worthwhile still!
