Boy, do I have some catching up to do! It’s been a busy year and my poor blog has really suffered. I thought I’d spend an hour or two tonight working on it. I really have enjoyed having a place to record all of our little adventures over the years and I revisit my photos often..usually as a reminder that sunny days and good times lay ahead!
This has been a crazy, busy, wonderful year for our family! In September our camping trips came to a pretty abrupt halt. Our goal over the three years that we’ve owned our trailer was to use it at least once a month, and until this fall, we did! The beginning of this school year though brought a lot of change for us. I’m a teacher, so most of the month of September was spent opening my fourth grade classroom. On top of that, our youngest son was leaving for his first year of college and we were busy trying to help him organize his room of 16 years into boxes…that took some time – and patience!
In October, Todd and I became grandparents for the first time…an event that was more special and exciting than we could have ever imagined. We are now the very proud grandparents of a beautiful little girl! In December I finished 15 months of active treatment for breast cancer and then the holidays were upon us. Phew!
Now life is calming down…routines are taking shape and we’re learning how to fill our time in this empty nest of ours! What fun!
Our last trip before our hiatus, was to Blue Bay Campground at Suttle Lake. This was our third visit to Blue Bay and I will say without a doubt that it still ranks as one of our favorite places to camp during the summer months. The sites are huge, private and most afford you a view of the lake. The campground is also just a short drive from Sisters, Oregon which has some fun galleries and stores to explore. If you’re visiting central Oregon, this is a campground you’ll want to visit!
I am sooo excited to see a new post. I found your blog only a week ago and spent many hours into the night reading every single post. I couldn’t get enough of your beautiful pictures and wonderful trip notes. I am in love with your trailer too. I am a vintage trailer owner – and this is the first modern travel trailer I would buy in a heartbeat if I could. Sounds like you had a very busy, scary, exciting year. I hope that this new year brings wonderful things for you…and lots of posts and pics for us!

What a nice comment Barbara…thank you! It was a scary year indeed, but it really ended on a happy note. There’s still a lot of life to enjoy! I would love to see photos of your vintage trailer! Some of my favorite little trailers I’ve come across in our travels have been vintage ones 🙂

I am on the hunt for a Bambi like yours. Hard to find with the panoramic windows in both front and back and I won’t settle for less. 🙂

LOL…common core & for us state testing starts next week! Busy days ahead at school! Do you guys winter camp at all? We sure enjoy it because often, there’s nobody else around 🙂

We do camp during the winter. We used to ski at Mammoth, not this year and we have gone to the coast several times this winter. I like it when there are fewer people around too. At the beginning of the year we went to Anzo Borrego (sp) near the Salton Sea. It was amazing with the metal sculptures. You should google it. We went up the Oregon coast last summer on our way to Montana and plan on going thru Oregon again. We usually come home down 395, so I am interested in places to stop on the way home.

Pam, Anzo Borrego is on our list of places to visit! Besides Mt. Raineer, we’ve yet to make it out of Oregon with our trailer. One of these days……
