Stayed at Nehalem Bay State Park, in the cute little town of Manzanita on the Oregon coast last weekend! The weather was perfect and the campground was all but deserted! This time I’ll just let my pictures do the talking:
(Took all these photos with my Fuji X100. Dropped my big camera on the pavement in the rush to get to the beach and broke my lens. I don’t think I’ll mourn it as I once would have….The little X100 really does a bang up job!)

The sky was changing quickly so we had to run to see the sun set!

Heading over the dunes for sunset…got really lucky with this photo! Love it!

The real show of the evening was the sky against the mountain range!

Just in time to see it drop below the horizon.

Self portrait!

Waiting patiently for me to snap a thousand photos!

Love capturing the changing colors after the sun sets!

Really, it doesn’t get much better than this!

Our hike back over the dunes to our campsite. Still a slight glow in the sky!

What a treat to come back to!

There we are!

Pretty spectacular during the day, too!

Sea Creatures

Ventured into town to checkout our favorite bakery.

Little sign of spring color
It was a lovely weekend! Life is good 🙂

Beautiful – I am in Illinois – so I’m quite jealous of your photos of the Pacific coast. I am camping vicariously through you. Every time I look at your Bambi, I am more conviced I really want one! You look beautiful, btw.

Thank you, Barbara 🙂 Feels pretty great to have hair again! We have loved our Bambi…it was the catalyst for us to get out and have adventures….this coming from people who had never really camped!

I am so glad you are posting again! I live in Wenatchee, and look to your blog for great places to take our trailer. Happy to hear you are healthy, and particularly glad to hear you are now a grandma. I became a grandma three times last year!
We have still not tried boondocking, but may get brave this year. It is still very cold here, so the trailer is still winterized. Give us another month!

Thank you Jane! Becoming grandparents was unbelievably exciting! We can’t wait until she’s old enough to “borrow” and bring with us on a few adventures.
Get brave and boondocks…I don’t miss the power at all for a couple of days. We’ve gotten really creative at saving power and water and it’s a habit I stay in even when we have full hookups! Bet you’ll enjoy the quiet and solitude…we sure do 🙂

Love your blog. My husband and I also have a 16′ 2008 International. We spend four months a year in it in Montana. When I was looking at your pictures I noticed you didn’t have a Fantastic vent cover. We had one installed when we purchased ours and we can leave our vent open all the time even when it is really windy which comes in handy in MT. Thanks again for such a nice blog! Colleen

Thank you for the tip, Colleen. We’re going to look into getting one. Nothing more annoying than the vent raising and lowering all night!! BTW…Love Montana and would love to camp there someday! We travel through every year on our way from Portland to Rapid City to visit my parents. We’ve spent a couple of Christmases in Yellowstone…one of my favorite places!

We stay on the Madison River at the Slide Inn about 30 miles out of West Yellowstone. If you are ever by there stop and visit since you know what we look like! I learned from you that they aren’t making the International 16′ anymore……makes me cherish ours even more if that’s possible. I really enjoy all your beautiful photos.

Always fun to meet other Airstream families in the NW. Maybe we’ll cross paths one of these days. Mt. Rainier is a favorite place for us and this summer we’d like to hit Olympic National Park! Happy travels 🙂
