This post begins an epic adventure for us – our first international trip with the Bambi. With very little planning, and a less than stellar weather forecast…we were off! First stop, Wallace, Idaho!
Wallace was just an overnight stop for us. Basically a place to pull off and sleep. Todd read that the RV park we had reserved, shared a parking lot with the only microbrewery in town…sounded like a winner. If nothing else, we knew we’d have good food and beer. Although Wallace is a small place, it’s a place we’ve always wanted to stop and check out. We’re usually zooming by at freeway speeds on the way to South Dakota to visit my parents, and this trip gave us a reason to stop and explore for a bit. It’s a cute town. Sadly, it’s pretty quiet these days…even during the Huckleberry Festival.
Pulling into Wallace was quite memorable. As we turned down main street we were greeted by several Storm Troopers making their way down the street. We thought that was odd, until we noticed that Darth Vader and Chewbacca were following right behind. We found out later that the local theater was putting on a Star Wars play…sadly we just missed it. That would have been fun to see. We set up camp with just enough light left to wander the downtown area a bit before eating dinner and turning in.
It was a fun night!
Next stop was Glacier National Park…..
Hello There! My husband and I are considering a AS Sport 16′. I notice in a few of your photos that you towed the trailer with a smaller SUV type of car. I also some photos where you were towing with a red truck. Did the smaller vehicle work out ok? Thanks!
