A great start to our Thanksgiving vacation this year! Sun was in the forecast this weekend so we made a quick trip up to Silver Falls State Park. Just an hour away from our house, this used to be a favorite spot for us in the off season, but it had been a couple of years since we’d visited. It was a fun return back!

There is a trail that goes around the campground through rainforest, open meadows and to a bird sanctuary.

We pulled in Friday night next to another couple that just began full timing in their Airstream a few weeks ago. They’re in for a great adventure and it will be fun to follow them. Be sure to check out Curtis and Tammy’s blog, justbreezinalong. Good reads, great photos and really nice people!

The Lodge at Silver Falls…had a great lunch here and ran into a bunch of my old students, now in middle school, hiking with their boy scout troop. Fun afternoon!
Had to keep reminding ourselves it was Thanksgiving break and not Christmas….
