Whiskey Creek Beach NW (http://whiskeycreekbeachnw.com) is a little gem of a campground located just 30 minutes out of Port Angles – a great jumping off point for exploring Olympic National Park. Sadly, due to a stubborn cold and then heavy smoke from nearby fires, we didn’t have a chance to explore as much of the National Park as we would have liked. Honestly, we were lucky to have such a beautiful home-base to just relax, read books, talk with traveling neighbors and enjoy the scenery. We definitely have a reason to return next year!
This is a private campground, with million dollar views of the Canadian Cascades and the Straight of Juan De Fuca. We had fun watching the nesting eagles just above the campground and watching the tide roll in. We saw Cruise ships, cargo ships and grey whales from our site and apparently it’s not uncommon to see submarines surface in the straight. The family that owns the property is delightful and they make the experience even more special. We couldn’t have picked a better place for our maiden voyage.

The view from our front windows! This old ship was just brought relocated to the property. The owners have plans to fix it up and possibly rent it someday.

The beautiful Crescent Lake is just a short drive from Whiskey Creek

Lots of blackberries in the area made for great breakfasts!

Perfect place to watch the sunset

Storm coming in…
