We met someone while we were camping this weekend that commented on what an upside down year it’s been. That’s a great way to think of it!

Upside down because of the 100 degree weather we had in the spring…rain and 60 degree temps in July! Crazy stuff, even for Oregon.

We got there a couple of hours before the rest of the family to set up camp! This is a wonderful site, right on the water!

q7

This is a magical place…

Twice now, we’ve made reservations and invited our kids to join us for a weekend at Camp Creek – one of our favorite campgrounds around. Both times we got rain! Last year we had torrential rains – collapse the tent, campground turned to mud type rain.  Luckily just a sprinkle this time around. It didn’t dampen our spirits a bit. We had a great time with the kids and we had fun celebrating our son’s 21st birthday.

And…oh the joy of seeing the world through the eyes of a two year old! Wearing mossy crowns in a castle made of leaves – Fishing with a stick and walking down secret trails into the forest. It was fun just to watch her having so much fun!

Imagination is a wonderful thing…a stick becomes a fishing pole…

Happy 21st birthday to our son

I don’t think about my cancer diagnosis often these days – but once in a while, I sit back, so very grateful that I’m still here and I get to be part of this wonderful life! This weekend was definitely one of those times!
