We had planned a return trip to Canada this summer to visit Banff and Jasper National Parks again. We visited the parks two years ago, but were besieged by rain the entire trip.
Unbeknownst to me, my passport had expired a month earlier. With some quick scrambling, we rearranged our trip to spend more time in Glacier Park instead. It’s a beautiful park and not nearly as busy as others this time of year. We were able to secure a nice campsite for a few days and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Our first night was spent in Wallace, Idaho. It’s a cute little town and is fun to explore.

A Garden Patio at West Glacier KOA. These are nice, large sites that offer patio furniture, a gas barbecue and a small fire pit.

Another view of the campsite. Although we had hoped to find a spot in the park, I will admit to enjoying electricity and water! We don’t camp like this very often, but I can see the appeal if you’re on the road a lot.

Going to the Sun Road…It takes me a little while to breathe on this drive. By the second or third time on the drive, I’m finally ready to look out the window!

Wildflowers in bloom….

A sunset hike…lots of little treasures along the way.

Lupines and Paintbrush still in bloom…

Majestic…

These old cars add a lot of character to the park!

Hike up to Victoria Falls…we were sad to see that just after our last visit, the entire area burned. It made it a completely different hike this time.

The aqua marine water color at the falls, makes this hike worthwhile still!

Stark beauty in the burn…

Nature’s graffiti….
I look forward to your trip reports. The photos are the most beautiful I have seen anywhere. Thanks for catching up. I live vicariously thru your blogs since I live near Denver and am tied down by dogs, the yard, the house, and family health. I hope you are well and thank you so much for sharing. Visited Glacier this past August with my 16 ft Bambi. It was such an amazing experience, however still full of other visitors. So enjoy your photos and brief desciptions. Thanks.

We visited Glacier last year as well and stayed at the KOA West Glacier. Too bad we missed you. Glacier National Park is one of my absolute favorites. Your pictures turned out better than mine. Imagine that. Keep posting. I look forward to your photography and descriptions.

I hope all is ok! I have missed seeing your posts more often. Due to your posts we have been inspired to take to the road and looking at trailers and other options right now. 🙂 The Owhyee is calling us. (After some practice runs in smaller locations and an overnight boon-docking closer to civilization that is. LOL!)
