Fort Stevens is a fun park! So much to explore within the park itself and almost unlimited bike paths. And, the city of Astoria is a fun place to spend the weekend as well. Great restaurants, bars and coffee shops to visit as you ride along the old trolly tracks along the Columbia River.
We headed down on this beautiful Veteran’s Day weekend. We read books, rode our bikes and ate good food. Scenic and fun! We are so lucky to have such diverse beauty so close to home.
Hello, we are Minnesotans with a 23CB, on the verge of upgrading to a queen bed. We love everything about our 23CB International Signature except the bed. We’ve been in it for two years. We own a spot at the MN Airstream park. Last summer we took it to Yellowstone & Tetons, and Winnipeg. We love to travel and are hoping to spend longer amounts of time in it as we near retirement. We have two boys (17 and 19) and want them to always be comfortable joining us for a summer adventure. We are looking at the 25FB and the 27FB. We love the idea of having a smaller footprint but worry about the lack of kitchen storage in the 25FB model. We also have found that we use both the microwave and oven and are not sure the convection microwave alone would be enough. Thoughts? We will be upgrading our vehicle for towing. BTW, all your design choices are beautiful! Thanks!

Hi Britney,
After owning the 25′ and now a 28′ I would say go for the 27′! We have yet to find a spot that we couldn’t fit on that we could with the 25′. The storage is so nice, especially if you have teenage boys 🙂 I didn’t care for the 25′ bedroom layout either. Of course that’s always personal preference. I found the bedroom cramped and it was hard to reach the storage bins. We have the twins now and we love them. There’s room to get dressed and storage both above and below the beds. The twins also allow for double the storage on the outside which Todd was really happy about.
I didn’t think we needed a microwave, but now that we have one, I find I use it quite a lot. Since we’re weekend campers still during the winter, I love stopping by Trader Joe’s and finding quick meals that I can make quickly. Ours is the microwave/convection model in our 28′ and it seems to do the trick for us.
The reason we bought the 25′ was it is the largest model allowed in many national parks in the west. But we found out there really aren’t many spots in the old campgrounds where even a 25′ fits.
Hope this helps! I remember how huge our Airstream felt after sizing up from the 16′ 🙂 So exciting.
